Livin Solo...

can be great.  I don't have to do my dishes right away if I don't want to.  I don't have to pick up my dirty clothes if I am tired.  I can be as messy or clean as I want without answering to anyone else.  I can decorate my way.  Living alone can kick ass.

But it can also be lonely and scary.  Like when I make the brilliant decision to watch ghost shows.  Alone. I believe in ghosts so when I watch these shows (such as my new obsession Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel) I know some of it is for real.  Whenever they catch a voice or sounds or shadows that can not be explained I literally start to cry and I get goosebumps.

So that is what I am doing tonight after the longest day of work.  Scaring the crap outta myself.  So sleeping with the light on?  Probs.

Adventures in Cooking & Nature Walks

Since I am trying to lose weight, I have been trying out some receipts and cooking at home.  I made a Caprese sandwich the other night and it was delicious!!  I just recently started eating tomato so it was the first time I bought, cut, and used a tomato in a meal.  It was the best meal of the week!

Spring has finally arrived in Missouri.  And to celebrate I started using the nature trail by my apartment again.  Tuesday I went for a 3-mile walk on the trail with my friend from Molly's Musing.  It was a gorgeous day and I snapped some pictures to capture spring blooming.  I returned to the trail today for a 3-mile walk/run.  I ran more than I walked which makes me pretty proud!

More nature pictures to come as spring continues to enter Missouri!

Because my wonderful friend tagged me in her post about this topic, I am doing it too:

  2. I talk to my cats like they are actual people and love them more than anything
  3. I will dance anywhere including the store, the shower, at work, and in my car

  6. I fear I will never find a job I love, a place to call home, or a man who thinks I am enough
  7. I shave my arms and my left hand cuts my right arm each time I shave.  I think the left hand is trying to kill the right.

  10. I find tattoos on guys extremely attractive

  14. I have had 2 supernatural/ghost experiences

Sunshine, BBQ, & Friends

It has been so warm and lovely this weekend.  My friends and I took advantage of this beautiful weather by having a BBQ yesterday.  We made some delicious side dishes (pasta salad, veggies kabobs, southwest dip, pesto dip, and corn on the cob), grilled hamburgers and veggies dogs, and played some yard games.  We also enjoyed some yummy beers.  I can't wait for more great weekends like this one.

Bit of a Hiatus

So I have not posted in a while.  I have many excuses which I won't bore you with now.  I have basically been busy.  Work has taken over my life which is no bueno.  My other problem is I have not really identified what I want this blog to be about.  I feel like it is kind of aimless right now so I am having trouble knowing what to post about.  I need some ideas.  Here are some thoughts:

  1. Blog about my cats (which is sad and kind of creepy but plenty of topics)
  2. Finding love (but dating here in Columbia has been dismal)
  3. Losing weight (which I am doing and blogging about it may hold me more accountable)
  4. Learning to cook
  5. Movie ratings
  6. Living in Cali (which I will be doing next year)
  7. Combo of some of the above
See my confusion?

Well for now here is a photo montage of my recent trip to Southern California.  I had an amazing time.  The weather was perfect.  My friends were so accommodating and made sure I had a blast.  I really miss my hometown friends and I need to be closer to them very soon.  Cali-I'm coming home soon!!!
